About Us
Our Mission
Greenwood Nature Preschool provides an open, natural, exploratory environment in which learning comes to life for children through hands-on, meaningful experiences, while embracing a deep connection with nature. We also strive to provide a bridge between teaching and therapy in a way that enables all children to have the best of both worlds in a shared setting.
It is our belief that all children have their own individual needs, strengths and areas of improvement that can benefit from educational learning experiences, social and emotional guidance, as well as physical world connections.
Exploratory Curriculum
Our curriculum has been carefully crafted in an effort to exceed children's needs in all areas of development. This uniquely designed curriculum merges nature based, play based, emergent and experiential learning in what we call exploratory curriculum. Learning areas, both inside and outside, are transformed to match our interest topics, allowing children to freely explore and create in these environments with guidance from teachers and support staff. Staff Training
While our staff each hold their individual qualities and quirks, as well as come from varying backgrounds in teaching and therapy, we make training a priority to maintain a high standard of consistency throughout our program, far exceeding the minimum mandated training hours by the state. We regularly evaluate not only our staff, but our program as a whole to determine areas of improvement in all aspects of the preschool in an effort to sustain high quality early childhood education and service.
